"Why do I need to maintain the area over my septic system?" Here's a classic reason why. Even trees that are only 2"-3" diameter have enough roots to raise havoc with a septic system. Just look at the root intrusion into the D-box. I definitely replaced this one, cleared the growth, re-graded and seeded!
