To help everyone out we figured it would be a good idea to explain the difference between wax job, buff, polish and paint correction. This will help everyone and ease the process when deciding what magic you would like us to work on your vehicle!
Wax Job- Wax is a form of paint protection. It provides awesome paint gloss, short term paint protection (1-3 months) and is most cost effective. Most waxes have what is called "fillers" which will temporarily hide light scratches and give that "wet" look. Once the wax wears away those scratches will return because a wax alone cannot remove scratches.
Buff- a old school term used when wanting the paint to either look good or remove scratches. In today's detail world buff is a very vague term. Usually when someone says buff they want scratches removed and the paint looking minty!
Polish/Paint Correction- Using a machine polisher and compound/polish liquid to remove oxidation, restore faded paint, remove clear coat scratches. The price for this service can vary due to condition on paint and what the customer is wanting out of their paint. This step is done ALWAYS done prior to ceramic coating a vehicle. If you have micro swirls/scratches in your paint (i.e going through tunnel car washes) or scratches that are on the clear coat this is the best option to remove them. Paint corrections cost more because the extended time and labor involved to get the paint looking correct. Once the blemishes are removed they don't come back! UNLESS improper washing methods are used or vehicle is in a harsh environment i.e tunnel car washes, using a brush to wash the paint, paint being touched by foreign objects like tree shrubs and etc.
