“The roots of trees draw moisture and nutrients from the Earth Mother, and then by way of precipitation, they deliver this life-giving water back to the earth’s atmosphere-thus, the miracle of rain. At the same time, trees transpose carbon dioxide into life-sustaining oxygen. By rain and by air in the trees also purify our environment. We see this relationship mirrored in the placentas of all higher mammals… it is these exact functions of delivering nutrients, moisture and oxygen, that sustain life on Earth, as well as life in the womb.” -Robin Lim, author of book, ‘Placenta, the Forgotten Chakra’
This placenta pictured helped nourish a beautiful baby boy.
I offer placenta medicine because it is a direct way of supporting birthing people in the immediate postpartum.
I offer placenta pills, tincture, prints, and ceremony to honor the beautiful organ that grew with you and your baby.
In photo #1 I am exploring the placenta: holding it, thanking it, admiring its beautifully long umbilical chord.
In Photo #2 I am making a placenta print 🩸. Many people like to have a keepsake of their placentas.
In photo #3 I am putting lemon 🍋 and jalapeño 🌶 in the water to steam with the placenta. These have warming properties, and the placenta is considered a “cool” organ.
In photo #4 the placenta is in the pot and will steam for 20 minutes on either side.
Photo #5 is the placenta after being steamed and cut into small pieces for dehydration.
Photo #6 is the placenta pieces in the dehydrator alongside the umbilical cord.
The post dehydration steps were not captured. Maybe another time!
I am honored to offer this type of medicine to clients.
thank you for capturing this sacred placenta ceremony! ❤️
