What Does An AI Governance Problem Look Like?
Many businesses are rushing to adopt AI.
But very few are asking an important question:
Who is supervising the AI?
The risk is not always the technology.
It is often the lack of governance, accountability, and leadership around how AI is being used.
I’m seeing organizations where employees are:
⚠ Uploading sensitive company data into AI tools
⚠ Using AI outputs without validation
⚠ Automating customer interactions without oversight
⚠ Creating shadow AI systems outside approved processes
⚠ Making decisions with incomplete or biased outputs
The result?
Operational risk. Compliance exposure. Reputation damage. Lost trust.
AI adoption without structure is not innovation. It is unmanaged transformation.
Ask yourself:
1️⃣ Do we have policies for AI use?
2️⃣ Do employees know what data should never be shared?
3️⃣ Who reviews AI-generated outputs?
4️⃣ Do leaders understand the risks and opportunities?
5️⃣ Are we building trust—or creating hidden liabilities?
I wrote an article on this because I believe AI readiness starts with leadership, culture, governance, and intentional implementation—not tools alone.

Question for leaders:
What concerns you most about AI adoption in your business right now—data privacy, employee adoption, governance, security, or something else?
