This is what a mortgage looks like in Florida.
- Principal and interest $500.
- Taxes and Insurance $1200.
Think about that for a second. Taxes and insurance is 200% more than what I pay on the actual mortgage lol. And you wonder why people are complaining about cost of ownership and rents going up. The taxes have increased by the maximum legal limit they can increase them year after year. And the insurance has seen a 200% increase in the last 3 years.
