Yesterday we were able to take a moment, put down our mops, caddies and vacuums away, and take a few hours to celebrate our team.

This year has been tremendous. We’ve been intentional about our growth, not only as a company, but as individuals and team members. This is a huge factor in the success of our company.

We had about 25 of us show up, in my tiny back yard. The kids had their hamster wheel, and all the fun an afternoon could provide.

We do a few events every year. This is our third year doing this. The Summer Bash has become my favorite event. It’s a lot of work, but just seeing the kids kept busy and happy, and the team having a moment to decompress, connect, and grow. I appreciate this team so much, and I’m so looking forward to what we can do between now, and next years KAS Summer Bash.

🍑 *Suffolk Farmers' Market* — Sat, 9 AM–1 PM at 524 N Main St. Our hometown market: produce, baked goods, handmade crafts, food trucks. FREE.

🎶 *Summer Fest at Town Center* — Fri–Sun, 5–9 PM in the Fountain Plaza, Virginia Beach. Live music every night, free parking, free admission.

⚾ *Norfolk Tides vs. Nashville Sounds* — Fri & Sat 6:35 PM, Sun 1:05 PM at Harbor Park. Last weekend of a long homestand. Ticketed.

🌅 *Sunrise Cleansing & Healing Ceremony* — Sun, 6 AM at Outlook Beach, Fort Monroe. Early alarm, worth it. FREE.

🥕 *Farmers Market at Bridgeport* — Sun, 9 AM–1 PM at 3832 Bridge Rd, Suffolk. Final market of the season. FREE.

🦜 And a note close to our hearts: Nana & Papa's Nest parrot rescue in Wakefield — a nonprofit KAS has supported — has to vacate their sanctuary by Aug 31 and is raising funds for a new home. If you've got a few dollars to spare for 100+ rescued birds, they'd feel it.

A new client called us last month and said something we hear some version of every year: "I have hired three cleaning companies in the last four years. None of them lasted. I think the problem might be me."

We had to tell her honestly the problem was almost never her. She had been picking specific vendors inside the wrong category for her household. The fix was not finding a better vendor. The fix was figuring out the category first.

Most of our local districts — Hampton, Newport News, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk, and Virginia Beach — head back on August 24, 2026. Chesapeake families get a couple extra weeks with a September 8 start.

Go ahead and screenshot this one. Between sports sign-ups, supply lists, and that one form you'll swear you already turned in, it's nice to have the date handy.

A pattern we see all the time, a homeowner has tried two or three cleaning services over the years and none of them lasted. The honest diagnosis is almost never that all the cleaners were bad. The diagnosis is that the homeowner was picking specific vendors without first picking the right category of vendor.
