😢This is heartbreaking to share. But it's necessary to share it.

East Beach Farmer’s Market is canceled for this weekend

Once again mother nature had other plans. And her plans include wind. Rain. And brutality. (The nerve of some planets weather 🤦‍♀️)

This makes multiple weeks in a row of abnormal or absent income for every business that relies on the local farmers markets for their sustainability.

✨️ If you normally buy your bread or soap or veggies at a market please don't go stock up at the big box stores. Your local suppliers need you now more than ever. ✨️

Many of us have online sales options or local shops we sell through. Reach out to your suppliers to find out where you can get their products

🚛I personally offer in home delivery. 🚛

For our business this makes 7 weeks of less than half of our normal sales because of weather or other uncontrollable factors.

We are going to be pushing online sales as much as we can for the next few weeks to try and catch up. But this kind of season can cripple a business if we let it. Real talk... between discouraging weather. A bad case of burn out and the algorithm working to keep our post from reaching folks it's gotten a bit heavy

Help us beat the algorithm over the next few weeks and engage with our posts make comments and share.

We might be tired and discouraged but we sure as heck never knew when to quit..

Stay dry this weekend yall.

Today was such a perfect day. It was delivery day. Throughout rural suffolk Hampton portsmouth and Chesapeake today... I purposely set my GPS to avoid highways and had the most lovely drive ever!

Never hesitate to order for delivery. That's giving me an excuse to escape the duties and just enjoy our beautiful area! 💜💜💜

We need all the vibes wishes prayers and rituals to ensure good weather for the upcoming markets.

The last few weeks have been brutal.

But still... we persist. Maybe it's just because we are stubborn and hard headed.

Saturday it's East Beach/EOV Farmers Market from 9am to noon

Sunday we are at Fort Monroe Farmers Market noon to 3pm

And you can place your orders online for a delivery if neither of those work with your schedule (link in the comments)

We got you boo! Come clean up your act

Sad sad news y'all

We will see you next Sunday on the Fort.

In the meantime come see us at East Beach/EOV Farmers Market Saturday 9am to noon

Unfortunately this cold front with rain looks like it's going to camp out over our area on Sunday. We feel the constant rain, heavy at times, is severe enough to cancel to protect our vendors and their products and packaging. We feel the customer turnout would be low with this weather anyway. Sorry but we'll see you for the next one on October 11 if Mother Nature cooperates.

We missed you today but-

I don't want to hear anyone grumble about us canceling. You'd have grumbled more if your shoes got wet.

Instead try happy thoughts. 😊

Like- there are two days in the weekend and two regularly scheduled markets and tomorrow's market is on the gorgeous historic fort Monroe where I can pretend I'm on an exclusive island retreat and being provided with the wares of specially selected artisans...

Happy thoughts are always better. And Sunday is always better when you visit the fort Monroe Farmers Market. 81 patch rd noon to 3pm.

This is one of the reasons we cancelled. And it’s not even high tide yet. Driving around the streets on the perimeter of the park and parking would have been greatly affected. Photo credit: neighbor Eric Greentree.
