We are deeply saddened by the passing of Allen Chapin. Allen was a kind soul with a quick wit and always had a smile. He enjoyed the banter with the younger guys at the shop and would light up when he was cruising in that red truck. He had millions of miles under his belt, that’s for sure! We are grateful to have had the pleasure of being around him. Keep “spreadin’ the good stuff” in heaven, Allen! Until we meet again…
Our thoughts are with the Chapin Family in this difficult time. 🙏🏻
Allen E. Chapin, 87, of New Columbus Borough, died Sunday, April 19, 2026 at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Susan Chapin, in Benton Township.

Allen and Pat would go on annual snowmobile and motorcycle trips across the United States and Canada, which included trips to Newfoundland. They also attended major motorcycle events such as Americade and Daytona Bike Week. He also really enjoyed eating breakfast with the "regulars" at the "Full Bull". He cherished the time that he spent playing games, especially Cad, with the great grandkids and looked forward to "game night".
He was a member of the Town Hill United Methodist Church and assisted with the church suppers and ice cream socials and festivals.

Chapin and his wife, Susan, of Benton; four grandchildren: Jeremy Chapin, James Chapin, Kayla Chapin and Allison Walter and her husband, Justin; great grandchildren: Hailey, Chase, Rylee, Mia, Ryder, Greyson, Elliana and Brooklyn.
