SW MO Pest Pressure News | Oct. 26–Nov. 1, 2026
NWS Springfield’s 6:23 a.m. Monday discussion calls for above-normal warmth: mid-70s to near 80 through Thursday. A few Tuesday sprinkles are possible, but dry air should limit widespread rain until a weak boundary and several disturbances bring 40–60% area-wide rain chances Saturday, with rain possibly lingering Sunday. Early-week winds stay light and southerly.
1) MON–TUE: Use the warm, mostly dry window to find shelter and entry conditions. Stink bugs and other fall invaders collect on warm walls before slipping through gaps at utility lines, vents, siding joints and worn door seals. At shops, restaurants and warehouses, look for daylight under loading doors; sweep food spills, close stored ingredients and clean dumpster pads.
2) WED–THU: The warmest afternoons can keep insects and their predators active. Pest Control should focus on identification, webs, insect prey and the cracks supporting activity. Move stacked materials and vegetation off the building, repair screens, and aim exterior lights away from doors when practical. Tick Control still matters along leaf litter and brush edges, while Mosquito Control starts with containers already holding water. Bed Bug Control remains travel- and item-driven rather than weather-driven: inspect luggage seams, beds and secondhand furniture when there is a reason to suspect exposure.
3) FRI–SUN: Prepare for the rain before it arrives, then inspect after it passes. Empty and scrub buckets, tires and other containers weekly. Gutter Cleaning and Gutter Guards should keep roof water moving; clear outlets and extend downspouts away from the foundation. For Crawl Insulation, V***r Barriers, Encapsulation and ATMOX Venting, measure conditions and correct the water source before covering damp material. Check Attic Insulation for roof leaks, compressed areas and pest evidence before adding insulation.
This week’s full-property check also includes Rodent Control at door sweeps, pipe entries and food storage; Wildlife Control at roof, soffit and vent openings; and Home Repairs only after confirming an opening is not occupied. Missouri BirdCast recorded continued southbound movement over Missouri Saturday night into Sunday morning. That is a seasonal signal to inspect ledges, signs and roof drains and to remove food and water attractants—not proof that birds are using a particular building. Termite Control inspections should note wood-to-soil contact and rain-related moisture; this forecast does not support a swarm prediction.
Infinity can identify the food, water, shelter and entry conditions supporting a problem, then match the correction to the building. Follow for a fresh local forecast each week.
