Jessica called me for a hot tub demolition (pics coming soon). I got that done. While I was there she asked if I could take care of a boat that had been sitting in the back of her yard for 20 years.
Here's what that actually looked like:
First call went to the transfer station to understand what they'd accept. Engine, refrigerator, stove, sink, and seats all had to come out separately before they'd take the hull. So I went and checked the trailer. Four flat tires. I pumped them all up. Three held air. One was shredded. Called four different tire stores and nobody had a used one in the right size. So I bought a new tires.
Then I got into the engine. Disconnected all the hoses and wiring. Cut the floorboards to get to the engine mounts. Separated the boat motor from the engine. Called a buddy of mine who runs Uppercut Lawn and Drive LLC and he brought his mini excavator out and lifted the motor into my trailer. Then I cut out the seats, the stove, the refrigerator, and the sink and hauled that first load.
I came back with the right size tow ball as the two I had were too big and towed the boat to the transfer station. I watched them crush it.
A few days later Jessica sent me a text. Said she loved having her yard back and not having to look at that boat anymore.
That's why I do this work.
