I’m Alan, owner/operator and licensed septic installer.
A main reason I started my own company was because I believe Connecticut homeowners deserve better. You deserve quality work, clear communication, and a contractor who shows up when they say they will.

🌧️ Today’s topic: Can heavy rain hurt your septic system?

The short answer? Yes.

After periods of heavy rain, the ground around your septic system can become saturated. When that happens, your system may not be able to absorb wastewater as efficiently as it normally does.

That doesn’t always mean something is broken but it’s a good reminder to give your septic system a little extra breathing room after major storms.

A few simple habits can help:
✔️ Spread out laundry and showers.
✔️ Avoid driving or parking over the septic area in your yard.
✔️ Keep an eye out for slow drains or unusual odors after heavy rain.

A little knowledge today can help prevent a much bigger headache tomorrow.

One thing many homeowners don’t know: depending on your health district and project, a licensed septic installer may be able to prepare the septic design without requiring an engineer, potentially saving you time and money.
