Properly Cleaning a Car Seat is Important!!!!

NEVER DO THIS:

❌ Steam harness
❌ Steam plastic shell
❌ Soak straps
❌ Use vinegar
❌ Use borax
❌ Use hydrogen peroxide
❌ Use bleach
❌ Power wash
❌ Machine dry
❌ Submerge foam
❌ Use essential oils on straps

WHY?
Because heat + chemicals weaken crash-tested fibers and plastic integrity.

Milk spills in car seats don’t just ‘dry.’

Milk is protein-based. When it soaks into the foam padding, it begins to break down and bacteria feed on it — which is why the smell gets worse weeks later.

Surface sprays won’t fix it.

You need an enzyme cleaner specifically designed to break down protein molecules at the source.

That’s why I use enzyme-based treatment when I deep clean seats with milk spills — it actually digests the odor instead of masking it.

If your car smells ‘mysteriously sour,’ this might be why.
