Recently I had a walkthrough & I love that in this field you can always learn something new but she mentioned endocrine disruptors. Of course I had to take a deep dive into this. I knew about this to an extent but the more I read, the more I relate to this. Especially being that I was recently diagnosed with pelvic congestion syndrome due to my hormones being off. This is what I’ve learned…
Endocrine disruptors are chemicals that can interfere with the body’s hormone system. These substances can mimic natural hormones like estrogen and testosterone, leading to imbalances and adverse health effects. Common examples include phthalates, parabens, and triclosan, which are often found in conventional cleaning products.
Exposure to these disruptors has been associated with various health issues, such as reproductive disorders, developmental problems in children, and an increased risk of certain cancers. Given their prevalence in household items, it is important to understand how to identify and avoid these harmful chemicals.
I am about to test this theory of household cleaners “don’t matter” out on myself. I am loading up on new cleaning supplies & let’s see if my hormones balance out some. 💃🏼
