You can be booked solid...

Working nights.

Working weekends.

Answering texts at all hours.

And still be broke.

Because you can't outwork bad pricing.

Some of y'all need a price increase, not more customers.

If that hit a little too close to home, comment PRICE below and I'll send you details for the June 23rd Pricing Accelerator cohort.

Hot take:

Most cleaning business owners don't have a pricing problem.

They have a courage problem.

The spreadsheet already told you what you need to charge.

The question is whether you're willing to say it out loud.

If you're ready to stop guessing and start pricing with confidence, comment PRICE below and I'll send you information about the next Pricing Accelerator cohort.

200 episodes.

Honestly, that number feels a little surreal.

A few years ago, I sat down behind a microphone with an idea. Not a grand plan. Not a media company. Not a strategy to become famous.

Just an idea.

What if cleaning business owners had a place where we could have real conversations?

Not polished conversations.

Not guru conversations.

Real conversations.

The kind where we talk about pricing mistakes, bad hires, burnout, boundaries, growth, leadership, and all the messy stuff that happens in between.

Well... 200 episodes later, here we are.

And what surprised me most isn't the number of episodes.

It's the people.

The messages.

The stories you've shared.

The businesses you've started.

The prices you've finally raised.

The boundaries you've finally set.

The confidence you've built.

Over 200 episodes, I thought we were creating a podcast.

What we were really doing was documenting an industry in real time.

An industry that is changing.

An industry that is growing.

An industry where women are building businesses, creating wealth, buying homes, supporting families, and creating opportunities that didn't exist for previous generations.

That gives me goosebumps every time I think about it.

We've learned a lot along the way.

Chaos is expensive.

Systems create freedom.

Boundaries matter.

Most business problems are really people problems.

And sometimes the lesson doesn't come from a spreadsheet or a business book.

Sometimes it comes from a story.

Most importantly, we've learned that none of us are doing this alone.

So whether you've listened to one episode or two hundred, thank you.

Thank you for being part of this journey.

The first 200 episodes were about documenting the industry.

The next 800 are about helping shape where it goes.

๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Episode 203: We Made It to 200 Episodes | What We Learned Along the Way is now live.

Have you been listening for a while?

I'd love to know how long you've been part of the Cleaning Business Life family.

Most cleaning business owners don't have a pricing problem.

They have a courage problem.

I know that's not a popular thing to say, but after 15+ years in this industry, thousands of conversations, and watching hundreds of cleaning business owners struggle with the exact same issue, that's what I've seen.

The math usually isn't the problem.

The market usually isn't the problem.

The competition usually isn't the problem.

The problem is standing behind a price that makes you uncomfortable and saying it anyway.

Because the minute you quote what you actually need to charge, all the fears show up.

What if they say no?

What if they think I'm too expensive?

What if they hire someone else?

What if they get mad?

What if I lose the job?

What if? What if? What if?

So instead, people discount.

They negotiate against themselves.

A LOT.

They lower the price before the client even objects.

They work longer hours.

They feel guilty about the price that has to be given.

They negotiate against themselves before the customer says a word.

They keep telling themselves the next client will make up the difference.

Then six months later they're working nights, weekends, answering texts at all hours...

They're busier than they've ever been.

And they're still broke.

Not because they aren't working hard enough.

Because you can't outwork bad pricing.

I've watched this happen over and over again.

The businesses that survive long term don't need to be the best cleaners.

They don't need the fanciest website.

They don't need the biggest social media following.

They don't need every certification, course, or piece of software.

They're often the ones who learn to get comfortable being uncomfortable.

Think of the guy who walks on fire.

The fire didn't change.

He did.

The ones who understand that not every customer is supposed to say yes.

The ones who stop asking strangers for permission to be profitable.

The ones who realize that charging appropriately isn't greed.

It's sustainability.

It's payroll.

It's taxes.

It's legacy for yourself and your family.

It's replacing the vacuum that died.

It's fixing the transmission when it blows up.

It's taking your kids on vacation.

It's building a business that still exists five years from now.

And if I'm being honest...

A lot of cleaning business owners are wildly underestimating their value while simultaneously overestimating how much their customers care about the price.

People pay for confidence every single day.

The question is:

Do you have enough confidence to quote the number your business actually needs?

If pricing is something you've been struggling with, comment PRICE below and I'll send you information about the next Pricing Accelerator cohort.

June 23rd at 1:00 PM Arizona Time.

Because sometimes the biggest thing standing between where you are and where you want to be isn't another spreadsheet.

It's having the courage to use it. โ˜•๐Ÿ’—
