World War I officially ended when the Treaty of Versailles was signed on June 28, 1919, but the fighting actually ended 7 months earlier when an "armistice" (a temporary cessation of hostilities) between the allied nations and Germany went into effect on 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. It is for this reason that we set aside the 11th day of the 11th month to honor America's veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good. With just around the corner, we thought you might like to know how to get rid of those very scary . When you see a chocolate stain on your carpet, your first instinct might be to grab a wet cloth and try to wipe it away, but this will just spread it around. Instead, wait until the chocolate dries. Once it hardens, you should be able to scrape most of the dry chocolate with a butter knife and vacuum up any remaining flakes with a hand vacuum. If you still have a chocolate stain, cover it with a clean paper towel and use an iron on the LOWEST heat setting to go over the paper towel covering the stain. The remaining chocolate should adhere to paper towel. You may have to repeat this part several times with clean paper towels to achieve the desired results.

Here's a good way to keep things tidy without breaking your back. Keep a basket at the bottom of the stairs and toss any toys or miscellaneous items that work their way downstairs throughout the day in the basket. Whenever you go upstairs, take the basket with you, and unload it. It sure beats running up and down the steps all day.

Stinky fridge? Simply place some coffee grounds in a bowl on a shelf and replace them every couple of months for a fresh, slightly caffeinated, smelling refrigerator.

Is their nothing vinegar can't do?!?! Keep your dishwasher extra clean by pouring ½ a cup of white vinegar into the detergent cup and running it empty for a complete cycle.

Here's a cheap and easy way to restore wood furniture! Mix a 1/4 cup of white vinegar (cider vinegar works too) and 3/4 cups of oil (pretty much any oil will work, so no need to reach for the good stuff), dip a rag in the mixture and wipe the piece that you're looking to restore - that's it!

Love your fur babies, but hate all the pet hair? Try dampening a rubber glove and running it across the hair-covered surface. Damp rubber acts like a hair magnet!

Did you know that "dry" cleaning is actually a "wet" process? Your dry cleaned clothes are tossed into a machine that looks and acts a lot like an over-sized front-load washer. The machine fills with solvent and the drum rotates swishing your clothes around in the (not-water) liquid that loosens the stain. When the cleaning cycle is finished, these machines take care of the drying too!
