Here at Chaos Kontrolled, there is a strive to push the envelope of traditional glass and functional glass art through means only our imaginations can produce. At CK, there is a focus on custom, one of a kind electroformed pieces, as well as collaborations with other talented and amazing artists. If you would like one of your glass items electroformed, please read a few bits of information on the
process, as well as other info which will help speed things along. You will never see two pieces of art look the same, minus the CK Naked series. This is because there is a strive here to go well beyond the basic electroforming process; a strive that results in a lot of time spent with patina mixtures and color blending. Each patina has the potential of extending the process from as little to a few days to many weeks. Thinking of the glass as a base canvas, the electroformed copper as a supplementary canvas, and the patina work "Alchemy Magic", amazing results in electroformed art can be achieved. CK has a new process and technique which has been labeled "Pizzle Plate Technology". Created and perfected by Big Pizzle - it is a time consuming process which is applied after the patinas and sealant work is completed. This process protects the copper and patina from further degradation, withstanding temperatures in excess of 500 degrees F, and is chemically resistant to cleaners. This process finally gives you more freedom to clean your electroformed piece, something which has not been achieved before. Starting in 2012, all electroformed pieces which go through the Chaos Kontrolled Labs will have the Pizzle Plate Technology, unless otherwise specified. Minimum custom electroformed order is $500. At this time we will not custom electroform smaller items such as pendants, slides, and similar, unless there is a batch of 12 or more. To get an idea of prices, smaller, "Macro" type functional art pieces start around that price, with larger items going beyond that amount. If your piece doesn't speak to us, Big Pizzle won't electroform it. We strive to push the boundaries of contemporary electroforming, and because of this, the glass canvas must flow with the vibe here at CK. One-of-a-kinds are always intriguing. In order to provide you a better quote we will need a little information as to what you'd like done to it. Please check out http://www.chaoskontrolled.com to see past customs we have done for others. Most people prefer to gather a few ideas, color combinations, and let us run with it. We focus on complete, functional pieces. Depending on how Bo$$ you want your glass electroformed will determine the price. In order to get on the waiting list, first we need to talk about what you'd like done, and then a deposit based on how much the total is, is required. I currently accept PayPal for payment, as it protects us both (especially with age verification). If you are a glass artist and would like to collab, please contact us for further information. Due to time constraints, we are very selective with whom we collab with. We are professionals, and will only work with professional glass artists who are as passionate of their art as we are. Thank you so much!
