Three years ago I took myself to Puerto Rico TWICE in 4 weeks to heal and decompress after determining my marriage was over.

I had to re-learn what my inner voice sounded like - and tickets were cheap.

Today I charged my old phone looking for PR pics to jump on the Bad Bummy support bandwagon..... just being honest.... and found this video and it has WARMED ME - I pray ALL of these Queens, where ever they are going their seats constantly get upgraded for FREE, the bank makes errors in their favor, that they never have to touch another doorknob, that they'll never have to flick a match more than once.

Today I am reminded of how calming your spirit was.

You were cool before we understood what cool really was.

The way you delivered jokes, how you saw the beauty in so many things, even your sneak disses - you were so cool.

I miss your cool so much I find myself trying to imitate it.
Smiling at strangers. Helping old people at the grocery store.
Drum solos on the steering wheel. Randomly complimenting cashiers and servers and librarians and old people.

Joy truly does come in the mourning because I've been really happy lately, doing exactly what we said I'd do - just being cool.

Having that giant ass studio in San Antonio was so funny - my aesthetic was kind of ahead of its time. One of my friends peeked in one-day and shaded the hell out of me, "I like the way you're PIECING this thing together."

I had mixed textures like leather and wool with ethnic finds, art, and thrifted pieces to create multiple seating spaces, I'm sure I could of cookie-cuttered the entire ordeal and dripped the 2700 sq. ft in IKEA BS, beige, fake plants, and shadows, but where's the fun in that?!

Proudly bounced color off the white walls and floors, it was obtrusive and different, but it was ME! And being true to myself is WHY I do what I do!

I knew I was heading in the right direction as a budding designer when I announced I was selling my things and the shady lady was one of the first to pull up "to grab a few things."

Anyway, ya girl, is putting a spin on the trend - home decor bundles - get into it at The HOLM Studio & Store Network

I went BIG for HOLM and I'll DO IT AGAIN!

I cultivated something people wanted to book, watch, and copy. I did an ORIGINAL thing and was the poster child for really STANDING ON BUSINESS about myself and my brand. ... not just waiting in the wings with the clout chasers, people pleasers, and haters yearning for a seat at a lopsided one-legged table. I built me a table, chairs, dining room, and gourmet meal plan ... and when I got up, I peeped how some of yall came for my scraps, was it good for you like it was for me?

Moving forward, I'm GOING FORTH into a space that is welcoming, creative, abd ready for my type of carrying on!
