🚨 Texas Alert: New World Screwworm Threat is REAL 🚨
At Worldwide Pest Control Inc., staying informed and protecting our communities is what we do—and this is something every Texan, especially our ranchers and livestock owners, needs to take seriously.
Today, Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller issued a strong warning following confirmation of the northern-most New World screwworm detection in Nuevo León, Mexico—just 90 miles from the U.S. border.
This is not a “wait and see” situation.
This is urgent. This is close. This is a threat to Texas.
🐄 Why this matters:
The New World screwworm is a destructive parasite that attacks living tissue in animals, causing severe damage and even death if not treated quickly. It can devastate:
• Livestock operations
• Wildlife populations
• Our food supply chain
⚠️ What you need to do NOW:
• Inspect animals regularly for unusual wounds or infestations
• Watch for signs like irritation, foul odor, or visible larvae
• Report anything suspicious immediately
Early detection can mean the difference between containment and widespread outbreak.
🤝 We’re in this together:
Texas has successfully eradicated screwworm before—and we can do it again. But it takes awareness, quick action, and community effort.
At Worldwide Pest Control, we are committed to:
✔️ Keeping our community educated
✔️ Monitoring emerging pest threats
✔️ Supporting both residential and agricultural needs
