Today is truly bittersweet. After 10 years of working side by side with my husband and building our business together, today will be my last day with American Tile Cleaning & Hard Surface Restoration.

Over the past decade, both my strengths and weaknesses have been tested in ways I never expected. I wouldn’t change a minute of it, because every challenge brought a lesson that helped me grow.

The greatest lesson of all has been discovering just how strong Ken and I are as partners in life. If you ever want the ultimate marriage test—run a business together! Through it all, he has proven to be the best partner I could ever ask for.

American Tile Cleaning was never part of our original plan. Ken was out of work and simply created a job for himself. We had no idea it would grow into what it is today. When he asked me to leave my career in the beauty industry to help full-time with marketing, sales, and building systems, I never imagined I’d end up doing the hands-on, down-and-dirty work too—but I did!

Now I can proudly say I grout, caulk, seal, hone, polish… and everything in between. I’ve learned more than I ever thought possible, both personally and professionally.

While I am stepping away, Ken will continue on with American Tile Cleaning, providing the same quality service our clients have come to know and love.

As for me, I’m excited to share that I will be starting a new chapter with the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Department (and no—I will not be a deputy 😊). I’ll be working in the office, and I’m truly looking forward to this new opportunity.

I would also like to sincerely thank everyone who was contacted during my background check. Your support and kind words mean more to me than I can express.

Thank you to all of our clients, friends, and family who have supported us over the years—it has meant the world to me.

Good morning A.T.C. family,
On April 6th, Heidi will be leaving American Tile Cleaning to begin a new chapter after an incredible 10 years with us.
She joined us at a pivotal time-during our fifth year in business-when we were navigating some serious growing pains. After the loss of her three parents, Heidi was ready for a fresh start, and we were truly fortunate that her journey led her to us.
Hired initially as a sales and marketing consultant, Heidi quickly became so much more. From in-home estimates and social media marketing to natural stone education and hard scape restoration, she wore countless hats and made a lasting impact in every role she stepped into.
Her dedication, resilience, and heart have helped shape who we are today. She will be deeply missed

8 weeks after shoulder surgery, and he can finally pick up his baby! Brace is off! Now.. it’s really hard to control his actions!! His PT evaluation is next week to see how he is doing, but he is doing really well, another gentleman got shoulder surgery a month before Ken way less work done and doesn’t have near the flexibility Ken has! All good news!! Next follow up appointment is March 17th with surgeon to see when we can get him back to light duty work. But, we’re thinking we may be hiring soon! So if you know a good reliable, hardworking person PM us. This work is not for the weak hearted. Great opportunity, to learn everything about natural stone, something in most new modern homes.

Update on Ken post Surgery:
He is going on to his 3rd week of PT he is only allowed assisted arm movement at this time, but no pain and movement is good! His sleep is getting a little better, and his arm sling get to come off next Thursday!! Yay!! He helped me do a clients shower on Friday, we literally switched places! Him doing detail work and me working the equipment. He has been behaving, but not without the struggle of trying things with one arm!! 🤣 Next check up with surgeon will be March 17th. Meanwhile, just more PT

Another week of GIRL POWER! Ken started PT yesterday and 2 weeks from today he can take off his sling!! Yippy!! Meanwhile, he is just supervising these 2 crazy ladies! And going to PT 2 times a week with daily exercises at home. But he is on the mend.

It’s been almost a month since Ken’s shoulder surgery. He is healing well, the only issue with that, is he still CAN’T use his left arm and he is trying to do things with one arm!! He is starting PT on Tuesday. Sleep is still a struggle. This week was our first week back to work on our commercial clients with Ken supervising 2 middle aged woman, one being me (his wife) definitely a lot of learning curves. But.. I have to say, we’re ALL ROCKING IT OVER HERE @ American Tile Cleaning!! And we can’t thank Juline Hobbs enough for all her hard work and support!!

Today Ken went to his post op appointment, the doctor is happy at where he is with pain and wants him to continue not us...

Today Ken went to his post op appointment, the doctor is happy at where he is with pain and wants him to continue not using. He will be starting light PT on Feb 2nd, he will be in his brace for another 6 weeks, and may go back to light repetitive work after 4 to 6 months. He may be spending those months training someone, but for now he will continue to heal. As for me, I am still doing showers, shower glass, and our commercial accounts. Thank you all for the continued well wishes, thoughts, and prayers.

It’s been 2 weeks since Ken’s surgery. He is healing well. It has been hard to keep him down. He has been out doing light yard work, and light work in the shop. Arm is still in sling. Post surgery appointment is Tuesday so we will know more about recovery time. PT will start on Feb. 2nd
No more pain or pain pills! So that is good news!
This week’s outings consisted of going to the fish hatchery.
