Anyone else set a specific day or week of the month to routinely change/check their filters around the house so they don’t forget?

So many filters are so out of sight out of mind until something sounds off or breaks…

I like to share routine reminders on the last weekend or first weekend of the month for those things.

It’s like a little reminder to end the month by removing last months filtered grime.

Or start the month with a fresh filtered house.

We also have a personalized list to do this when we provide downtown Austin cleaning services so our clients never have to wonder when and how.

Every time I see a home that has a plug in diffuser of any kind I always look above or below it for damage.

We’ve seen it damage paint on bathroom vanity cabinets, flooring and the underside of picture frames.

Unfortunately it’s user error more than diffuser error but once you figure that out then the lesson is learned.

One of the biggest misconceptions about housekeeping is that cleaning is all about finding the strongest product.

It isn’t.

The homes and luxury condos we care for in downtown Austin have taught us that protecting a surface is often more important than scrubbing it.

These blue ovens look beautiful, but they’re not something I want to attack with harsh oven cleaners ever.

If I can find a way to prevent buildup in the first place, I’m going to take it.

That’s the difference between cleaning a home and maintaining one.
