10 Holiday De-Stressing Tips
Everyone is busy. There is so much to do.
Everyone seems to be rushing, worrying, preparing, planning, cooking, cleaning, scheduling, twirling around with last minute obligations.
Some are feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, guilty, angry, tearful.
If you do not put yourself on your list of things to take care of, you will tire easily and your resilience will weaken.
Symptoms of depression and anxiety can become exacerbated under additional stress. Symptoms that are inflamed by stress are difficult to endure, especially with the added pressure to "be on" with company around.
The list below of our 10 recommendations for de-stressing around the holidays are not new, but they are worth repeating. They are also not as easy as they may appear at first glance. They, are, however, self-explanatory.
Read these tips. Follow them. Especially if you are not feeling good. They are important.
1. Say NO.
2. Rest.
3. Delegate.
4. Accept help.
5. Breathe.
6. Laugh.
7. Don't eat too much.
8. Don't drink too much.
9. Don't expect too much.
10.Practice self-compassion.
