Full Exterior detail on my personal vehicle, 2012 Audi S5 4.2L
This car was especially dirty because it is my daily driver. The S5 had lots of built up pollen all over the car and bugs on the front grille.
Here is what I did, After taking a through walk around I started cleaning the wheels. We always start with the wheels because the are the most dirty component and washing them after the paint is already clean risks getting the paint dirty again.
Next I did a thorough pre rinse to remove most of the bugs, pollen, and residual dirt from daily use.
After the prerinse I used the foam cannon to start to break down everything that did not come off during the pre rinse. As well, during the foam step we use brushes to detail and exterior extremities such as badges, grilles, exhaust tips, etc.
After this the car is now prepared for the contact wash. Using the two bucket method using a grit guard I began to wash down the car using a microfiber wash-mitt.
After I had wiped the entire car down, periodically rinsing and cleaning the mitt I moved on to rinsing then drying the car. Due to heat and the nature of black paint to heat up very fast, I did not have much time dry the car so I was unable to move my camera to get the best angle.
The final results were as good as I could get due to the hot weather and current paint condition especially around the front because of lots of rock chips and its age.
