PSA….when we get inquires for pool service, I take the time to go and do a free inspection of the pool and pool equipment. As of late, I have been finding other service providers dropping chlorine tablets in the pools skimmer. This is such a huge mistake. Not only does it eat away at the plastics, the highly acidic and chlorinated water after the pool pump turns off for the day, sits in there along with the plumbing to the pump, will soon create very expensive repairs. This is a red flag that you may have someone that does not know what will happen or has been taught to do so. These 2 pictures were taken on pools that have working salt systems and do not need tablets. When hiring a pool service, please make sure you ask as many questions as possible about their experience and knowledge of chemistry. This practice is unacceptable in the industry and should now be frowned upon by pool owners that need service as it is not easy and very labor intensive scope of the pool trade.
