When a septic system fails, you don’t always have to tear up the entire yard.

This homeowner’s in Travelers Rest septic system had reached the end of its life, so the best long-term solution was connecting to the public sewer system.

To make that happen, the homeowner obtained an easement on the neighboring property, allowing us to install a new sewer tap. From there, our crew directionally bored approximately 300 feet to the new connection.

Why directional boring?

🌳 No trench cut through the neighbor’s yard.
🌳 Mature trees and landscaping were preserved.
🏡 Minimal impact to both properties.

Another one in the books 💧 We just finished installing a brand new water line for a homeowner on the Greenville water system, and I’m pretty proud of how we pulled this off.

Instead of cutting into the road, we directional bored under the road and tapped directly into the existing water main on the side of the street — saving the homeowner from dealing with a torn-up road in front of their house. From there, we directional bored the new line from the meter to the house, so the yard didn’t get touched either. Only had to dig up a small section to set the new water meter to finish the tie-in.

Sometimes the best compliment isn’t just that the job was done right—it’s that we gave someone peace of mind.

Mrs. Cathy discovered a major water leak in her front yard just days before leaving for vacation. After evaluating the situation, we determined the best long-term solution was to replace approximately 85 feet of her water service line instead of patching another leak. Since this was already the third leak in just a few years, replacing the line made more sense than another temporary repair.

She was expecting us on Tuesday, but knowing she was leaving on Sunday, we rearranged our schedule and surprised her by showing up Saturday morning. Our crew worked from 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM to make sure she could leave for vacation without worrying about a broken water line.

This project wasn’t easy. We had to work around mature trees, shrubs, landscaping, and rock, so we used directional drilling and pneumatic missile boring to install the new water line while minimizing disturbance to her property. Once we finished, you could barely tell we had been there.

🚧 Progress is underway on another commercial utility project in Greenville!

At Jonathan Blackburn Contractors, LLC, we're preparing the site for a new Italian restaurant coming soon to Pleasantburg Drive in Greenville, SC.

Before a new sewer line can be installed, sometimes the ground has other plans.

Our crew is using a mini excavator equipped with a hydraulic rock hammer to break through solid rock so we can excavate and install a new 6-inch sanitary sewer service. Rock excavation is one of the toughest parts of underground utility construction, but having the right equipment and an experienced crew keeps the project moving safely and efficiently.

Another great project completed by Jonathan Blackburn Contractors LLC! For this job, we used the Missile Bore Method to replace the waterline running from the house out to the yard hydrant a trenchless technique that gets the job done with minimal disruption to the yard and landscaping.

While we were already out there, we the homeowner wanted to extend the line to add an additional yard hydrant, So we did what we do best and added another one for them giving our customer even more convenience for the future.
