I’ve ripped the album a bunch and I’m happy to report my overall emotional health is now OUTSTANDING, my math skills are IMPECCABLE, food tastes better, my car is getting better gas mileage and animals love me….all just from listening? YES….

Valentine’s day 2026....Love was in the air and we count ourselves lucky to spend it with a crew of good folks here to catch the sneakily broad shouldered dreamboat duo of Jonny Fritz & Albert Hickman. We’ve had love for Jonny Corndawg for quite some time, we love his spirit and just knowing he’s back out with a new album and doing his thing makes us feel fortunate that our paths crossed. His foundational silliness and hilarious songs mixed with being as genuine a person as you could come by.....make us cherish nights like this. And can we discuss Encino’s own? The slam poet laureate Albert Hickman? Expressing himself through sweet tones and knowing looks, captivating our hearts, our minds. Made us feel pretty special, complimenting our home and crew in the way true realtors at the top of their game do.
Our pursuit for pulling good people together for live music is always our priority and I’ll be damned if it doesn’t hold true for every show. Met a bunch of new homies and god dammit if that doesn’t make us feel good.

Aaron Lee Tasjan is a god dang legend. A-L-to the mf’n-T swooped
though the west coast on his ‘In The Blazes’ 10 yr Anniversary tour.
He stopped by Sunny Hill and put on a ripping 2 hour set. Stories on
point, incredible songs, some Todd Snider gems and just flawless
singing and musicianship. He played EVERY request! Made time for
every single person who wanted to chat. 100% kind, 1000% present and
10,000% cool as s**t. His generosity to dip into the catalog and play
his tunes provided us enough goodwill to topple a fascist regime.
We’ve experienced solo guitar ALT and full band ALT (unreal) and this
go around we were able to maneuver the old 800lb Korg into the living
room and maybe it was that blue diamond dusted dog walker going around
but I swear he had that thing bouncing and swaying. Thank you to Mark
Miller for making it sound so sweet.

We love to have posters at our shows when we can and our pal
Christopher Smith asked if he could contribute to this show and he
knocked it out of the park. Just a fabulous poster that so perfectly
captures ALT’s vibe. We believe in good art, uplights and the
goodwill of our community. Being able to share that with people
renews the faith in humanity and provides riches no shareholder could
count. Thanks to all that help support shows and widen the
connectedness we are able to achieve with live music.....come on out
on Valentine’s Day and let some (Jonny Fritz) into your hearts. More
shows to announce in the spring.

PS - caught an Isbell show this week and they were bumping ALT pre
show and it was cool.
PPS - you also know Sunny Hill legend Will J & the 400 unit held that
s**t down!

Life near the bone seems like a pretty good place to reside. Raw, emotive, touching, hilarious, abrupt, soft, hard, real.... Immediately real is the best way I could describe and introduction into our lives. We got right down to the connective tissue we all share as humans.
As we get older, we’ve grown comfortable in feeling all the vulnerabilities that music elicits. With all the s**t that surrounds us in this country, a calmness and resolve lingered throughout the evening. What became evident as we began to feel all the feelings was that Jesse and Phil were bringing it and us to another level. Draped in a somber red haze, these two delivered one of the most powerful sets we’ve experienced. Phil’s guitar and Jesse’s voice under the pitched roof with a room full of people being moved by the emotion and the intimacy. Honored to be able to host Jesse and Phil. Appreciate making it a smooth operation and we always love making new music friends and sharing it all with the old heads (and old dogs). Do yourself a favor and try to catch these two in person. Outstanding on all accounts.

Is there a better outcome than to share music with people? On an experiential level of nature or travel, it just makes us feel we are part of something larger than ourselves. We adore the folks making the art & the people supporting it, which has helped our lil community take form. We continue to be inspired by all the great music out there & by the other venues like ours doing their thing. Had the honor to host some of our favs this year and we can say a bunch of nice things about Skyway Man who led us off, but what needs to be said is this is some of the best s**t out there. Our hope is that we get to experience more SM with all of you & get a hang with the Skyman fam some more in 2026. And speaking of Fam-next up, Futurebirds! Not a secret how the Petaluma crew feels about the boys & this particular show was one for ages. Even whilst on a west coast bus tour, we were able to logistically reduce the big touring band operation down to the DIY house show vibe thanks to all those willing to make it happen. Next & keeping with the family theme, prolly because we got a thing for Irish guys but our bud Michael McDermott is as good a live act as it gets. So much power and so much energy wrapped into stellar songwriting. Such a bright & inspiring experience. Color Green entered into our lives a few years ago but we took the relationship to the next level in ‘25. Don’t let their charming personalities and good looks distract you, because they are out to melt your face and rock your world. Said back in May, they have that “favorite band” vibe and we root hard for them.
Just as we were recovering from CG we were up against it and the start of summer was imminent, but we could not think of a better group to roll into any season with than Kelly McFarling and crew. Kick ass band, awesome crowd, killer poster and Kelly brought the perfect vibe to our place. So proud of her & crew on all accomplishments in’25. To close it out, we welcomed back the 5-timer himself Spencer Thomas And what made this one special was that he brought Schaefer Llano and these two treated us to an awesome evening filled with music, friends and family. Hard to beat

We are stoked to announce we will be hosting Jesse Sykes and The Sweet Hereafter at our place on Jan 22.

Jesse Sykes and The Sweet Hereafter is the result of an enduring musical alchemy between singer-songwriter Jesse Sykes and guitarist Phil Wandscher, which began in Seattle, Washington in 2001.

Blending folk, blues, orchestral pop and various psychedelic stylings, their sound culminates in what the New York Times has described as “spellbound music, rapt in fatalism and sorrow.” Known for her dusky, otherworldly vocals and lyrics that touch on the metaphysical, she was once described by MAGNET as being “less like a performer and more like a sage ” and “whether the sonic setting is one of doomy distortion or fragile finger picking, Sykes remains a truly unique vocalist whose dusky voice is capable of imparting a transcendent, almost spiritual quality to almost any tune it touches.”

Sykes also plays in a band with guitarist and Grammy winning songwriter Dave Alvin (a project called The Third Mind, on Yep Roc Records,) alongside members of Camper Van Beethoven, Counting Crows and Richard Thompson’s band.

Prior to his work with Jesse Sykes, Phil Wandscher help co-found the influential alt- country band Whiskeytown with Ryan Adams, in which he appears on the groups first three records, co-writing some of the bands most beloved songs, most notably songs on Stranger’s Almanac, which many say was also arguably the band’s most beloved album. Wandscher too, appears on singer- songwriter, Marissa Nadler’s acclaimed album “July” and has in recent years, recorded and toured with Jon Langford, the leader of the legendary Mekons. Other album guest appearances include; Rocky Votolato, Nada Surf and Death Cab For Cutie.

Sykes and Wandscher, with newer and older Sweet Hereafter members (and many special guests,) await the release of the upcoming album, “Forever, I’ve Been Being Born”, which is due out on Nov. 28th

Super excited to announce we scored a JONNY FRITZ show on Valentines Day, Feb 14, 2026. A show for the lovers..... We are pretty stoked to be hosting Jonny, but what does this LA real estate mogul/Leather worker/Music Director of the fabulous Little Saint in Healdsburg want with our kind???? We dunno, but fully intend to find out. We will drape the place in love and prepare for the contagious genre of music called Dad Country. Equal parts Country, Western, Comedy, Bewilderment.

Jonny has a wonderful new album called Debbie Downers out now and from what we gather, he will be releasing four versions of the same album over the next year.

Proud to announce we will be hosting Aaron Lee Tasjan at our place on Sunday Jan 25, 2026.

Aaron Lee Tasjan’s debut and breakthrough seminal album“In The Blazes” turns 10yrs old this fall and is getting a special re-release / deluxe edition.



ALT will tour in select venues on the west coast in early 2026 where he will play the album start to finish with some other special songs, etc. solo acoustic.

ALT was nominated for a Grammy in 2022 and this is ALT’s 3rd visit to Sunny Hill and those who caught those shows can attest, he puts on an amazing show.

Tickets go on sale world wide on Friday at 10 am Petaluma time. This will be a seated show, it’s BYOB and every single dollar goes to the artist. Show your support in any way you can and we hope to see you all soon.
