We're looking for a skilled diesel mechanic to join our team and perform a variety of tasks related to the maintenance/repair of all our vehicles and equipment. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, well organized, and able to work diligently, without much supervision or direction. A problem solver who isn’t afraid to take the lead and plan ahead. This person will be comfortable prioritizing their own tasks and confident in their decisions.
Responsibilities and Expectations
Workday: 7:00 – 4:30 Monday – Friday
Maintenance: brakes, lights, clutch adjustments, fluids, oil changes, cosmetic work, major engine repairs
Equipment: prepping trucks morning and night, greasing and fueling loaders after crew leaves for jobsites in the morning, daily inspections, making sure tools are operational at all times
Tires: inventory, tire shed (neat and organized), potential needs
Emergencies: address immediate needs on and off site and make off site service calls when necessary, being available to ensure our drivers are safe and can work efficiently in extreme temperatures
Welding: light fabrication
Organizing: cleaning work areas throughout the day, keeping apron clean, maintaining parking formation/alignment, keeping shop garage doors clear and accessible. Ordering parts/filters, keeping parts room organized/clean.
Communication: ability to interact with drivers to make sure their needs are met, and equipment is fully functional
