Another example of lichen removal. It is a long process and I will likely be treating the stone again this coming spring. But with patience almost any stone can be restored.

I cleaned a row of family stones a while back.

I have to take the photo while the stone was still a little wet but you can see this one was almost sinking beneath the earth. I was able to dig around the stone and restore it. I may have to go back in the spring and get an updated photo.

My services don't just include cleaning the stone. A cleaning by Hawthorn Preservation also gets you basic landscaping around the stone, removing debris, leaves, and overgrowth that might be blocking the stone.

This is my favorite stone that I have restored so far. It was done for the Little White Church located in Palmerton. This is part of a passion project of mine to restore the entire cemetery (with permission from the Historical Society). Stay tuned for this spring when I will be back out there!
