Updated: HIGH WIND WARNING NOW IN EFFECT FROM 5 AM THIS MORNING TO 11 PM PDT THIS EVENING. West winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts to 75 mph expected.

The US National Weather Service San Diego California has issued a High Wind Warning for the Coachella Valley and San Gorgonio Pass near Banning as well as San Bernardino, Riverside and San Diego County Mountains, Apple and Lucerne Valleys, and San Diego County Deserts. Strongest gusts will be near the desert foothills and on the slopes.

The High Wind Warning is in effect from Monday, April 3 at 5 a.m. to Tuesday, April 4 at 5 a.m. The strongest winds will occur Monday afternoon through evening. West winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts to 80 mph are expected.

Strong winds could damage trees and other objects. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Significant blowing dust and sand is possible in the desert, resulting in areas of poor visibility. Use caution if driving.
