Nearing the very end of the season. Everything is slowing down, the bees are moving at a snail's pace and the cleaning process has joined the same boat. 🐌🐌🐌

We came across this interesting stone in Evergreen Cemetery in Otego, NY and we had to know the story!
'Charles Hesser, Unknown Odd Fellow, Killed By the Cars, June 4 1907'

A little research and I was able to come across this newspaper article from The Star June 5 1907

**Circus Man Killed- Charles Hesser Fell From Train of Forepaugh-Sells Brothers Near Otego Yesterday Morning and Was Ground Into Pieces Under Car Wheels **

Full article from that newspaper pictured below

The stone of Rachel White in Pepacton Cemetery before and after reset. This one was really cool, we found the original hole it was set into the concrete which allowed for the stone to sit as it was originally moved. Fit like a perfect puzzle piece needing a little love ❤️

Considering how dirty his stone was, it looks like Oscar Chatfield's stone and veteran marker are brightening up wonderfully!

Solomon A. Green - Civil War Veteran at Evergreen Cemetery in Otego
"Serg't in Co. G. 152 Regiment N.Y. S.I. Member of the Baptist Church Otego, N.Y. Died at Washington D.C. March 10 1863"

The original inscription was pretty gunky and hard to read, definitely had to get that recorded before weathering swallowed the history. Solomon was born in New Berlin, NY 1843. He enlisted with the 152nd NY Infantry in August 19, 1862. He died of 'brain congestion' on March 10, 1863. His obituary talks of the importance of his church to him, which is definitely notable in the mentioning of it within his inscription.

Got my hands on an old plot deed, and of course had to put a face to the name. Adventure came with a small happy rainbow in the far distance 🌈🙂
