🏡 From Raw Land to Dream Home: The Building Process 🚧🦺
Ever wonder what goes into building a house before the keys are handed over? There’s a lot more happening behind the scenes than just putting up walls!
1️⃣ Land Clearing & Site Preparation
Every project starts with preparing the land. Trees, brush, stumps, and debris are removed to create a clean, safe building site. The lot is then graded to ensure proper drainage and prepare for construction.
2️⃣ Excavating the Foundation
Once the site is ready, excavation begins. Soil is removed or added to the proper depth for the foundation, footings, and basement (if applicable). Accurate excavation is critical to creating a solid base for the entire home.
3️⃣ Foundation Installation
Concrete footings and foundation walls are poured, creating the structure that supports the home. After the foundation cures, waterproofing and drainage systems are installed to help protect the home from moisture.
4️⃣ Septic System Installation
For homes outside of city sewer systems, a septic system is an essential part of the project. This includes installing the septic tank and drain field, which work together to safely treat and disperse wastewater. Proper design and installation are key to ensuring years of reliable performance.
5️⃣ Backfilling & Final Grading
After the foundation and septic system are installed, the excavated areas are backfilled and graded. This helps direct water away from the home and prepares the site for the next stages of construction.
From the first tree cleared to the final grade, every step plays an important role in creating a strong foundation. We are excited to be apart of this home building project here in Milaca, MN.
