Hi Friends of Augustus St Gaudens Playground!!

I’m so excited to share this information with you!! Please join the meeting and share your options!

In the last budget cycle, Councilwoman Rivera allocated $3.9 million for the renovation of Augustus St. Gaudens playground – a longtime priority for her that was finally able to receive funding. The Parks Department is getting started on the scope and design of the project already, and they are holding a public scoping session on February 15.

AMAZING NEWS!!!!! Our park clean up up is back on for 2022!!!!!

After the last 2 crazy years, when we lost everything, we're BACK!! I have been working on new sponsorships and friends of Augustus St Gaudens Playground. I can't wait to announce the details!

Please stay posted for details but I will tell you this...

The date is May 22nd from 10am-2pm

We are cleaning the park and having a book swap- please bring your gently ready kids and YA books to give away. All left over books will be donated.

We will **HOPEFULLY** be debuting our new park library too! Fingers crossed it arrives in time.

Hi Everyone!!

I have an update… we are not going to clean the park this spring- it’s all too complicated and because our supplies were destroyed by the scaffolding next door we are going to need to do more fundraising, which we can’t pull off before next weekend.

On Sunday June 13th I will be going to the playground to clean out our supplies and see what can be salvaged. If you’re around please grab some work gloves and come help!

BUT!! We are planning a park clear up event in the fall when school starts … please follow and keep an eye out for details.

Attention!! Please read!

The scaffolding in the park came down today and, no shocker here, all of our stored materials and supplies were destroyed over the last 2 years. It’s a real bummer since we collected those items over 8 years of Park Dept grants.

I have written to my contacts to start the process of replacing these things and planning a spring and (hopefully a fall) clean up event.

1 Please pass this page onto as many neighbors and friends as you can- we are going to really need help this year! Plus there are so many new families with little kids who might not even know we do this every year! Please look out of upcoming information.

2 Call 311 as often as you have energy and complain about rats in the park- they have been completely unchecked for a year and I know without looking that we’re back to 2010 here.

Hi Park People! The park clean up is happening, rain or shine! For the hardy and devoted people - I hope you'll come join me! Unfortunately, I think the art activities will be washed out. Luckily, we have never had rain on the park clean up but I suppose it was bound to happen! I will plan a community, non-cleaning event another day for the kids- probably in June when our new NEIGHBORHOOD LIBRARY BOX arrives!

Our friends at Playday NYC are coming rain or shine too! So if your strong and fun kids want to come and play in the rain, we have awesome arts for them!

Attention Park Clean Up Peeps!!

Thank you to everyone who gave to the power washing gofundme page!! I'm thrilled to report we raised all the money we needed for this year!! And a big thank you to the Gramercy Neighborhood Associates, Inc. for donating and being the best partner in this project!

Playday NYC will be there with awesome art projects! Plus we have games and fun activities for all the kids when they get tired of sweeping!

Please bring a few books for our first annual park clean up book exchange! And the foundation of our new park book swap library!

Two big announcements!!

First, we have a new and awesome sponsor!!! Playday NYC agreed to oversee the annual art project! Thank you to my old friend Gregory Okshteyn for being involved- we're thrilled to have you on the team!
