It was a sad weekend for us. No one tells you how hard goodbyes are, and no one prepares you for them. This weekend I had the honor to spend victoria’s last day with her swimming in the ocean. We swam there nose to nose, her body just floated in my arms while her owner sobbed near by and all we can think is we wish we had more time or we wish we can make her better. But little did we know she was happy and at peace. As passing boats went by and the waves came in she just floated there. Victorias back legs gave out on her a few years ago she was 18 years old and still kicking but declining slowly. I was her pet nanny/vet tech for a year and it was the best year ever caring for her senior needs. We had a strong relationship as she really didn’t care for people. With sea water and sand still in her fur I laid on the veterinary hospital floor and held her as she took her last breath. She lives on by her 5 other fur siblings, her dads and her nanny and many many more. Sleep in peace Victoria , no more pain. Run across the rainbow bridge my old gal.
