Imagine you’re already driving 15 miles over the speed limit, and someone is still riding your bumper, impatient and wanting to get around you.
What do we sometimes do?
We speed up. My heart and my car.
Not because it’s safe. Not because we need to go faster. But because we don’t want the person behind us to be frustrated or angry with us.
That’s people-pleasing.
Instead of allowing them to pressure you into going faster and farther beyond your limits, safely move over and let them pass.
Because eventually, their pressure can become your consequence—a speeding ticket, an accident, or something worse. And the person who pressured you may simply keep driving while you’re left dealing with the consequences.
Life works the same way.
You don’t have to keep accelerating because someone else is pushing you. You don’t have to go beyond healthy boundaries just to keep someone else happy.
Sometimes the wisest thing you can do is slow down, move over, and let them go.
Their urgency does not have to become your emergency.
Stay Safe on this narrow road called life!
