DID YOU KNOW?? THE RIGHT CLEANING PRODUCT MATTERS MORE THAN YOU MIGHT THINK! 🏡

When it comes to cleaning, stronger doesn’t always mean better — and more expensive doesn’t necessarily mean better either.

One of the most important parts of professional cleaning is knowing which product is appropriate for which surface, how it should be used, and when a different product is needed.

Using the wrong cleaner can actually cause permanent damage.

⭐️Natural stone – Acidic cleaners like vinegar can etch and dull certain types of stone.

⭐️Stainless steel – Abrasive products and improper chemicals can scratch, discolor or damage the finish.

⭐️Luxury vinyl plank (LVP) – Too much water or the wrong product can leave buildup, dull the finish or potentially cause damage over time.

⭐️Wood cabinets & finished wood – Strong degreasers and harsh chemicals can strip or damage certain finishes.

⭐️Bathroom fixtures & specialty finishes – Some cleaners can discolor or damage coatings and finishes, especially when they’re allowed to sit too long or aren’t intended for that particular surface.

And here’s another important one:

🧴 Dilution matters!

A product being labeled as a disinfectant doesn’t mean it’s disinfecting every time it’s used. Products must be mixed and used according to their label instructions, including the proper dilution and contact time for the job.

At RJS Property Solutions, LLC, we don’t believe in using one cleaner for everything.

One of our everyday workhorses is OdoBan, which gives us cleaning, deodorizing, sanitizing and disinfecting options depending on how it’s being used. It’s also concentrated, allowing us to use the appropriate dilution for the task instead of unnecessarily using an expensive ready-to-use product everywhere.

We also keep products such as Benefect Decon 30 available. Benefect is a botanical disinfectant that we may choose when its particular properties make it a better fit for the situation.

You’ll also find products like Athos Multi-Surface Cleaner, Murphy’s Oil Soap, Blyss Mop Soap, Dawn and Bar Keepers Friend in our supplies.

Why so many different products?

Because your shower, stainless steel appliances, wood cabinets and flooring shouldn’t necessarily be cleaned with the same thing. 😉

We choose the product and method based on the surface, soil level and job at hand.

Professional cleaning isn’t about reaching for the harshest chemical on the shelf.

It’s knowing what to use, what NOT to use, how much to use, and how to help protect the surfaces you’ve invested in. 💚
