Those are all for a 1-bedroom, one-story home in our Murfreesboro service area, cleaned monthly. Bigger house or more often and the number goes up — every card has the every-two-weeks figure on it too.

The deep clean is the welcome. Inside the oven and the fridge, every cabinet, baseboards, trim, switch plates, interior windows and the tracks. The whole house, done properly, once. Then the membership keeps it that way so it never gets back to where it was.

Any tier counts. Curb Club at $59 a month gets you there. So does a full cleaning plan — Simply Clean starts at $209 a month for a 1-bedroom cleaned monthly.

Month to month. Cancel any time with 30 days notice.

An empty house gets cleaned differently, and most people find that out too late.

Nothing's hiding behind furniture anymore, so everything shows. And whoever inspects it is looking for exactly the things a normal clean skips.

Move-Out Clean covers inside every cabinet, drawer and closet. Inside the oven and the fridge. Baseboards, trim, doors, switch plates, interior windows and the tracks.

Last thing we do is walk every room with a flashlight held low along the floor. That's how an inspector finds what a cleaner missed - so we find it first.

Photos of every room when we're done, so you can forward them straight to your landlord or your agent.

Four things on your list right now that you keep meaning to get to.

The house cleaned properly. The carts out on time. The filters changed. The gutters done before the next storm.

None of them are hard. All of them are annoying. And together they eat about 20 hours of your month.

Want to know if your cleaner is actually thorough? Check three things after they leave. Takes about ten seconds.

Light switch plates. Dirtiest thing in the house. Everybody touches them, almost nobody wipes them.
Door handles — and the edge of the door. The edge is where hands actually land.
Baseboards at the entry. First thing a guest sees. Last thing anyone cleans.

All three are on our checklist for every house, every visit. But go check yours right now, whoever cleans it.

The trash can gets heavier before a parent will admit it.

Then the filter gets skipped. Then the gutters wait another season. That photo is a real gutter, packed, on a real house here in town.

And they won't ask you for help, because asking means admitting.

So set it up for them instead. Carts out every week. Filters every three months. Gutters twice a year. Cleaning on whatever schedule makes sense. You set it up once, we show up for them, and the bill comes to you.

I sat down and added up what a house actually costs you. Not in money. In hours.

This is a 3-bedroom on our Deep Clean plan, every two weeks - the one that includes laundry, dishes and linens.

Cleaning it top to bottom, twice: 13 hours.
Laundry, dishes, beds and linens: 4 hours 38 minutes.
Trash out and back: 43 minutes.
Gutters, filters, and the supply runs nobody counts: 1 hour 39 minutes.

That's 20 hours a month. 240 a year. Thirty full workdays - six work weeks, spent on a house.

Nobody counts the Lowe's trip to buy a filter you're not sure is the right size. Twelve hours a year, standing in an aisle. You still spend it.
