Gave this beast of a tap tower the full treatment this week. 30 taps, all clean. 🍺

Full caustic recirculation, faucets torn down, and couplers thoroughly cleaned. Everything's rinsed and back to pouring the way the brewery intended.

If your beer tastes off or your foam won't settle, your lines are trying to tell you something. Regular professional cleaning is the difference between good beer and gross beer.

This system had been neglected for quite some time, but thank goodness new management saw the need to replace it and start fresh.

New panels, trunk line, stainless steel keg couplers, and a glycol power pack are the main highlights. We also rebuilt the 6-tap tower with fresh lines and insulation, and converted 2 taps on their other 4-tap tower to nitro taps. Along the way we also found a pretty significant CO2 leak that had gone unnoticed for some time. Note: you shouldn't have to change your co2 tank out every 1-2 days.

It was a long day, but by the time we left the beers were pouring perfectly.

We can't stress enough the importance of having your beer lines cleaned bi-weekly and keeping your equipment maintained. It saves you money, keeps your beer pouring the way the brewer intended, and helps you avoid a full rebuild like this one.

Well, Meta finally did it.

Last week, Tapworks Northwest — along with thousands of other beer, wine, and spirits-related businesses — got an email from Facebook saying our page would no longer be recommended by their algorithms. The reason? "Community Standards violations." Which ones? They won't say. How do we appeal? The link doesn't work.

For those keeping score: we clean beer lines. We don't sell alcohol. We don't advertise alcohol. We post photos of clean draft systems and the occasional bar we're proud to service.

Apparently that's enough.

The upshot is that fewer people will see our Facebook posts going forward. The best ways to keep up with us:

📸 Instagram (also Meta, but somehow not affected — yet)
🌐 tapworksnorthwest.com
📞 A phone call or text

And if you've got a second — liking, commenting on, or sharing our posts genuinely helps. Since Facebook won't recommend us anymore, the only way our content reaches new people is through you. Every share gets us in front of someone the algorithm has decided we shouldn't talk to.

To every other business in the industry navigating the same nonsense — we see you. Hang in there.

A little behind on posting this, but after a bit of a process, we won the contract to clean taps at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island!

23 taps across three venues — Keglers, the O' Club, and the CPO Club — and every one of them is its own puzzle. Different system layouts, different line runs, different challenges from stop to stop. What works at one bar won't always work at the next, so showing up with the right equipment is half the job: jumper stacks, recirculation pumps, the right hoses and fittings to adapt on the fly. That's the difference between checking a box and actually doing it right.

Because at the end of the day, bad beer almost always comes down to dirty lines. Clean lines = the beer your brewer intended.

Proud to service the men and women of NAS Whidbey.

Knocked out the lines at The Rex Bistro this morning.

Six taps cleaned, scrubbed, and pouring fresh. The before/after isn't always visible, but your customers can taste the difference in the first sip.

Be sure to go check this spot out if you haven't yet!

A little over a year ago we installed this beautiful long draw draft system… and it still looks this good today!

After consistent bi-weekly cleanings, the faucets are still shining, there’s zero buildup, and the entire system is performing perfectly.

From the clean beer faucets to the spotless lines and tidy setup, proper installation + regular professional maintenance makes all the difference.

This is exactly why we recommend bi-weekly cleanings for long draw systems — it keeps everything looking and pouring like new, month after month!

This is what buildup looks like on draft equipment even after some cleaners have serviced it. Thick sludge and gunk caked on the outside — not just inside the lines.

When equipment isn’t properly cleaned on a regular schedule (like bi-weekly), it becomes a breeding ground for bacteria and mold, which can affect beer quality and taste.

At Tapworks Northwest we clean everything — inside the lines and the exterior of your draft equipment — so this doesn’t happen.

Proper bi-weekly cleanings keep your beer tasting fresh and your system looking professional.
