Critter Control of Central Mississippi

Critter Control of Central Mississippi We are a local wildlife consulting company that specializes in animal removal and home exclusions

Central Mississippi includes the capital city of Jackson, the most populous city in the state with more than 160,000 residents. The city’s humid climate and proximity to the Pearl River attract nuisance wildlife year-round. In their search for food and shelter, wild animals can cause significant property damage and potential health issues for the area’s home and business owners.

🐿️ Squirrels can find their way into attics… and that’s no April Fools’ joke!

Common entry points include soffits, gable vents, fascia boards, roof ridge vents, roof returns, and chimneys. Once inside, they can cause serious damage by gnawing through wires, disturbing insulation, and creating other issues that may lead to costly repairs.

🦝 Spring is here and so are raccoon kits! During this time of year, raccoons give birth to litters of 2–5 kits, often in hidden areas of homes and businesses.

While they may look like smaller versions of adults, they remain dependent on their mothers for nearly a year!

Common spots include:
✔️ Attics
✔️ Chimneys
✔️ Crawl spaces
✔️ Wall voids
✔️ Under decks and porches

Although raccoon kits may look small and harmless, you should never try to handle them yourself. They can still bite and scratch if they feel threatened.

🔊 Strange sounds coming from your chimney? You might have raccoon kits! Female raccoons seek out safe, enclosed spaces like chimneys to raise their young.

If you hear mewing, crying, chittering, or whining, there’s a good chance a raccoon family has moved in. Check out this video of kits found in a chimney stack!
