Shared from another page... please keep this in mind. Thank God our vacation rental company we clean for was forced to shut down!!!
IMPORTANT INFO ABOUT SPRING BREAK SAFETY
I wanted to share the advice I just received from an Atlanta infectious disease doctor. I've seen talk about people renting a cabin or house for spring break close enough to drive with no stops, and then cleaning the room themselves upon arrival and practicing social distancing during the trip.
I contacted an acquaintance at Infectious Disease Consultants in Atlanta to ask about the safety of this. He informed me that the type of cleaning to effectively minimize risk is terminal cleaning like they do at hospitals. Rentals, hotels, and even individuals aren't likely to use the cleaning products and protocols that control the spread of infection. For this reason, he says the recent ban in FL on vacation rentals makes sense.
I know we are all feeling cooped up right now and there's nothing I'd like more than a change of scenery, but people moving around is going to fuel the spread of this virus. Remember, many of us have it already without symptoms, so we'd be putting the people who clean a vacation rental after we leave at risk. And for those of us who do not have virus, the person who cleaned the room prior to our arrival could expose us, and wiping things down with a Clorox wipe isn't going to cut it.
It sucks, but STAY AT HOME!!
