Jacob almost didn’t start.

When we first spoke, he told me straight — his business was doing okay. Around $375K a year, steady enough, all built on word of mouth.

But underneath that, there was a problem.

Everything depended on chance.

If referrals came in → busy
If they didn’t → slow

No predictability. No control. Just riding the waves.

I stopped talking about "leads" with my clients a while ago.

Not because leads don't matter — but because "I need more leads" is almost never the real problem.

When I actually dig in, it's usually one of these:

The follow-up is too slow. Calling the next morning instead of within minutes. By then they've already called three other people.

The system handling enquiries isn't set up properly. Homepage instead of a focused page. Too many distractions.

The wrong people are seeing the ad. Broad targeting with no filtering. Tyre kickers and people who can't afford the job.

Fix any one of those and the leads that were already coming in suddenly start turning into booked appointments.
