August 2026 Talent Management Board Update

REMINDER: the August 2026 Talent Management Board application deadline is next Wednesday, 29 July 2026.

NEW ASSIGNMENTS:
• Special Shore Opportunity and Overseas Assignment: AUKUS FTT (Perth, Australia). Officers selected will conduct their shore tour as instructors in brand new facilities as a part of AUKUS, establishing the groundwork for a new global maritime deterrence hub and directly strengthening the integration of US and Australian naval operations.
• Graduate Education Opportunity: USNA Graduate Education plus Teaching (GET). Officers selected will spend 12 months earning a graduate degree followed by 24 months as a USNA Instructor. Separate from the USNA Leadership, Education and Development (LEAD) program, this program allows officers to pursue technical degrees during their first year of shore duty.

Join us in congratulating LT Abby Agosto on a successful tour with PERS-42 and LT Logan Vredenburg and LT Hunter Lutte on their new assignments within PERS-42!

After an impactful tour as JO Assignments Coordinator, LT Agosto has officially turned over the role to LT Vredenburg.

LT Vredenburg will remain within PERS-42 as the JO Assignments Coordinator, continuing his efforts to align sea and shore slating across the Submarine Officer community. LT Hunter Lutte has relieved LT Vredenburg as the Submarine Division Officer Shore Detailer, and they can both be reached at [email protected] for all shore duty or slating related questions or concerns.

⚓️ August 2026 Talent Management Board Announcement ⚓️

The August 2026 Talent Management Board is now open for applications, offering career-boosting opportunities for eligible division officers.

Opportunities include:
• Graduate Education: USNA LEAD Master’s Program, Naval Postgraduate School Artificial Intelligence program with two-year utilization tour, Civilian Institute curriculum via the Warfighting Education and Professional Studies program (full and part time), URI/UCONN
• Special Shore Tour Assignments: Division Officer Detailer at PERS-42, N133 Nuclear Program Manager, Research and Development Support Activity, DON Office of Legislative Affairs
• Career Flexibility: Direct to Department Head, Career Intermission Program

Eligibility: Officers with a PRD between March - August 2027 (those playing the 2Q27 and 3Q27 slates).

Application Deadline: 29 July 2026

The 4Q26 Slate results are in, and we saw strong performance among those who participated. Thank you to everyone who submitted their preferences and be on the lookout for your orders over the next month!

Next up, the 1Q27 Slate has just been released, with the following important dates:

• Early Slate Due: 07 JUL 26

• Mid-Slate Update: Coming the week of 13 JUL 26

• Standard Slate Due: 06 AUG 26

• Results Posted: Approximately the week of 01 SEP 26
