I catch myself grinning whenever someone rolls their eyes at how much I fuss over my dogs, because in my world every extra treat, cozy blanket, and ridiculous toy is just me trying to show them that their loyalty, their silly antics, and the way they curl up against me at the end of a long day are worth more than anything, and sure, I may joke about “competitive compensation,” but really it’s just my way of making sure they know they’re cherished, that their happiness matters, and that the endless little indulgences are tiny tokens of the enormous love I carry for them every single day 🐾
