This beautiful Cadillac Blackwing came in for our 5-year SB3 ceramic coating. 💚🔥

It started with a thorough hand wash and full decontamination, followed by an enhancement polish to clean up some minor swirling and bring out more of that Typhoon Metallic Green. ✨

We finished it off with the 5-year SB3 coating, along with protection on the windshield and wheel faces. 🛡️

Such a cool color, and definitely one you don’t see every day. 👌

This beautiful Cadillac Blackwing came in for our 5-year SB3 ceramic coating. 💚🔥

Coming in next is this GMC Sierra for our ALPHA ceramic package. 🔥

We just worked on this truck back in July, and the owner decided it was time to step up the protection and make this big Sierra a whole lot easier to keep clean and hand wash.

What does a clay bar actually do?

Even after a thorough wash, your paint may not be completely clean.

A clay bar removes the tiny contaminants that get stuck to the paint that regular washing can’t remove, things like brake dust, road grime, overspray, tree sap residue, and other embedded buildup.

🔴 Washing cleans the surface.
🔴 Clay removes what’s stuck to the surface.
🔴 The example in the photo is after 2 thorough washes.

Afterward, the paint feels noticeably smoother and, more importantly, is properly cleaned and ready for polishing, waxing, or ceramic coating.

It’s one of those prep steps that can make a big difference in the final result.

It’s getting our ALPHA 5-Year Ceramic Coating Package, along with some paint minor paint correction to really bring out that finish.

🔴 Thorough interior vacuum
🔴 Dash, console & interior surfaces wiped down

The 3-year coating gives your paint long-term protection, added gloss, and makes regular washing and maintenance much easier.

Ever wonder why one car can polish up pretty easily, while another takes a lot more work to get the same results? 🤔

A lot of it comes down to the clear coat. They’re not all the same.

🔴 Soft clear coat tends to scratch and swirl more easily. The upside is those imperfections usually polish out easier, although softer paint can also be a little finicky to finish perfectly.

🔴 Medium clear coat falls right in the middle. It handles everyday wear a little better and usually responds well to polishing without putting up too much of a fight.

🔴 Hard clear coat is generally more resistant to light scratching, but when swirls and defects do show up, they can take quite a bit more work to remove.

And harder doesn’t necessarily mean better. It just means the paint needs to be approached differently.

That’s why I always start with a test spot before getting into a full paint correction. Two cars can look equally swirled under the lights, but once the polishing starts, they can be two completely different animals.

There really is no one-size-fits-all way to polish paint.
