I would like to thank the Kolb family for allowing me to be a part of their home renovation and adding my touch to their new gas fireplace, all the pre planning on log style, tv placement, tile, mantle placement all came together for an amazing end result. I was contacted by a customer who was inquiring about replacing her exposed vent pipe protruding through her new roof. With a closer inspection to the interior flue pipe, this revealed the vent was was completely disconnected, which was allowing flue gases and carbon monoxide to vent directly into the attic. Additional unsafe issues such as the electrical wiring which was professionally repaired by RWMiller, who resolved the issue, great work. Our company removed all deteriorated vent pipe and replaced with new and improved material. Even though we may not be utilizing our furnace in the summer months, but please be aware that hot water heaters are being used all year around, which produce dangerous and deadly gases. Homeowners need to ensure they pay close attention to appliances to prevent unsafe venting problems such as the issue in the pictures provided. Too many close calls here lately, please ensure that your smoke alarms and CO detectors are operating. A $1.00 battery could save your life. Please pass along, ask neighbors, ask friends if there units have been tested and batteries changed. If you feel you can’t install it yourself then reach out to friends and neighbors to help. It’s a cheap insurance policy to provide protection. I see too many homes without them.
