Weather Update regarding Monday, Feb 2nd

Hi everyone, we wanted to give you an early heads-up regarding the weather. Due to the snow, we are likely not going to be picking up garbage tomorrow, Monday, February 2nd, in Haywood County.

We are monitoring road conditions closely and will post a final decision here later tonight. We will also post again tomorrow to inform everyone of our plan for the remainder of the week, especially since more snow is expected mid-week. We will keep everyone updated continually.

We hope you and your families are staying safe and enjoying the snow day!

My wife, Andrea Parrott, and I are excited and proud to announce that as of Friday, January 30th, our family company, Midsouth Services, officially purchased RJ Sanitation from Ronnie Palmer and his family. It is such an honor to have this opportunity.

RJ Sanitation has served this area well for a long time, and we know we have big shoes to fill. We are committed to meeting the high standards they set and will work hard to exceed your expectations as your new provider.

For all current RJ Sanitation customers, your service will remain uninterrupted:

Pricing: Your current monthly rate is staying the same.

Service Day: Your pickup day will not change.

Staff: You will continue to see the same drivers you’ve always had.

Guys here is Midsouth Facebook yall are welcome to contact them with any further questions about the new company. Just trying to help them get transitioned over as smoothly as possible. We appreciate all of you! Also please know that all of our customers he is not changing the price in clay, fannin and cherokee counties. All prices are staying the same!

Guys listen up we do have a big announcement to make. As of, February 1st, 2026, we will no longer be serving you all as RJ Sanitation. Dad (Ronnie) is retiring! With that being said, the new owner Mid-South (Michael Parrot) will be providing you all with the same great service. He is keeping the prices the same and for the most part the drivers will still be the same with the exception of having to replace dad. He has hired all local boys which is a great career opportunity for these young men as well. I understand that no one likes to change and it will take some getting used to, but it is a great opportunity for all of us. We want to personally thank you for the continued support throughout all the years, and we hope to see the new business thrive as much as we did. We could not have done it without you. Good evening just wanted to update our customers, Christmas week our Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday routes will not change they will be running those days normal schedule. Thursday 12/25/25 they are going to be running some just not all so they can get off a little early to spend the day with their families. If you are in Marble, Andrews and down Fairview you will get picked up normal time. Johns Peachtree route and 141 Route will not be picked up on Christmas Day it will be picked up on Saturday 12/27/25. As far as Ronnie and Koles Cherokee County Route they will run that on Thursday 12/25/25. The majority of the clay county route will not be run on Thursday 12/25/25 it will be run on Saturday 12/27/25. This is the mission dam, fires Creek, Towns Mountain, Qualla Road, Carter Cove Road Areas. Listen up, if you are unsure if you are on for pick up Thursday or Saturday, they will be passing out notes but DO NOT JUST ASSUME PLEASE I WOULD RATER YOU CALL AND MAKE SURE THAN JUST ASSUME AND BE MISSED! Happy Wednesday, we want to wish our customers a Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving. We also want to let you know that we will be running Thursday 10/27/25 our schedule is not changing so please make sure to put your garbage out, so we do not miss you.

This message is for our Thursday clay county customers. If you are in the Mission Dam,Fires Creek, Towns Mountain, Qualla Road, Carter Cove. There will be no pick-up today, 08/04/25. The driver is out. They will get you picked up Saturday 08/06/25 we are sorry for any inconvenience.
