25 year old pressured system. Wasn’t pumping down. Another company pumped his tank, sold him a $450 pump, wired it wrong, had to pump it again to access the wiring, and tried to sell him a new system. An email to LCRA got me the site plan, located his supply line immediately with the difference in the color of the grass (wasn’t getting water). I pulled my measurements and found the end of the first lateral line, then all 4. Being an installer taught me all the tricks. Cut the end caps off, pressure jetted each line, plumbed them back with valve boxes for future access, and added some ball valves and valve boxes to the supply line so they can be flushed one at a time if ever needed. Good as new. Made a little mess of his yard, made it right, talked about new sod but it’ll fill in quickly. I installed a new system for him 5 years ago at his primary residence. Amazing repeat customers.

My name is Patrick Nelson. I own and operate Nelson Integrity Septic. The first 2 years in business were amazing…every time I worried about getting slow the phone would ring. Septic pumping, repairs and real estate septic inspection keep me very busy. Everything was well balanced and I loved meeting and helping people in a bind with their septic problems. I started to lean more into the installation part of the business, being a Class 2 installer with a soil/site evaluator license that lets me grade soil and site conditions and design conventional systems. It’s been 7 years and I’ve stayed slammed with work. I’ve worked til dark, 7 days a week sometimes, doing service calls on my way in from an install. I’ve spent every birthday, Memorial Day and Labor Day on an excavator working, watching the boats go by on the lake while mine sits. I did all this for my family, but I’ve realized money isn’t as important as my time with them. I’ve been blessed with my customers and word of mouth, but it’s time to slow it down. I would like to focus on service calls and sale inspections, and add to my 50 or so aerobic maintenance contract customers. Feel free to call with any septic installation questions, but please keep me in mind if in need of these smaller services and check out my detailed work on my Nelson Integrity Septic page. My business number is (830)265-3443.

A little RV park I maintain needed an upgrade, and it was a big one with Burnet County’s RV gallons per day sizing. We broke off 6 spots and placed a 1500 3 compartment tank that dosed a large Aerobic unit several times per day, giving the Aerobic time to treat the wastewater. The laundry room and 4 other spots did the same with their own 1500 gallon tank, and added a large storage pump tank that pumped to a drip field with 4 different zones, hitting them one at a time with a spring loaded switching valve. That’s 3 time dosed control boxes, lots of wire and conduit, sleeved road crossings, and all new plumbing. There was existing electrical and plumbing everywhere! The first picture was a few months after I covered and seeded. The second couple pictures was the clearing of the wooded hill side, and my favorite was burning while I cleared. The rest are of my magical cover up. I did this in stages while all RV’s were occupied, and broke them loose and tied to into the new system the morning of inspection. All other RV’s stayed on the existing septic. Starhorn RV, owned by an amazing man.

LCRA failed a real estate septic inspection because the previous owners added a porch over the drain field. Measured what we lost, redesigned to get our footage, LCRA approved. I located the end of lateral lines and added footage to two rows and added one longer row, all rock and pipe and rerouted water line to make it fit. Added risers to bring the tank lids to ground level. New water line shut off valve because the city’s meter valve was broken. The over head power line to the house made it a tricky dig but I had it handled.

I had a 20 year old septic design on paper. Pulled my measurements, setbacks from house and property lines, and considered them strattling the trees. Made an educated guess on where the end of the lateral lines would/should be and started digging. No spotter, just experience. I pulled the end cap off with the excavator bucket tooth without breaking the pipe. Ninja level achieved.

System replacement in Round Mountain, while occupied. Hammered tank hole, but got lucky because the harder rock was up around the drain field. Pumped up to a “low pressure dose” panel drain field tucked between the trees. Left him attached to old fiberglass tank until time to back fill. Sifted ALL tank hole rock and dirt spoils to back fill with. Collapsed old tank, burned what rock I could and hauled off the rest. Put the chain link fence back up and done. Lot of work for one person but they always turn out great. Makes it worth it.

Look at all at these fruit trees!!Army Vet…living off the land. I was amazed at all his work. Hand dug, and rock barred every hole, placed dirt below the trees to catch water, had chickens which he shared eggs with neighbors and harvested deer all the way down to using the bone marrow and freezing that and extra fruit. I believe that if everyone did more of this, our world would be in a lot better shape.

Set the tank, starting filling for leak check and went to lunch. Got back and checked it…something didn’t look right!!! Divider wall had shifted. Pulled lid at 7:30 the next morning, not fixable..had the new tank in by 8am. 11 years of installing and never had that happen.

Aerobic spray with a view…had the hammer ready but got lucky..just clay. Had to get it in before the retaining wall was installed and the yard brought up to final grade. Went an extra 100 feet to water the oak trees. Pump line 2 feet deep for protection.

Conventional gravity system in Kingsland…all plumbing bedded so it will never sag, inspection ports on the first and last row just to mark the edges of the field. The clay content and rain made this one hard to cover but it turned out alright.
