Did you know you can clean almost your entire house with Dawn Powerwash? 🫧

It’s my favorite all-purpose cleaner because the foam clings to surfaces instead of immediately running off, which gives it more time to break down grease, soap scum, and everyday buildup. It also leaves behind a light, clean scent without being overpowering.

I use it on things like:
• countertops
• sinks & tubs
• stovetops
• appliance exteriors
• cabinets
• shower doors
• baseboards
• spot cleaning walls
• and plenty of other everyday messes

If you use Dawn Powerwash regularly, though, constantly buying refill bottles can get a little expensive over time. Thankfully, it’s super easy to make your own at home using just a few ingredients.

DIY Dawn Powerwash Refill Recipe:
• 4 tbsp blue Dawn dish soap
• 2 tbsp rubbing alcohol
• fill the rest of the bottle with hot water (about 12 oz)

That’s it. Quick, affordable, and really effective. 😊

I had so much fun on this decluttering job!

Unlike most of my decluttering jobs, everything had to go! It took 4 trips to load up everything and drop it off to Mission Thrift, but we got it done and I took home some really cool treasures. 😍

I’m thrilled to have helped one of my weekly maintenance clients clear up some space in her home. 🏠 💚

I just had to hop on this trend!

What a cleaning lady does when someone says to shake her moneymaker.

There is nothing quite like that feeling you get when you win the bidding war… even if you kind of regret it directly after. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤣🧽

Two years ago, The Humble Homemaker was just an idea I decided to take seriously.

Today, it’s a business that has supported me, introduced me to incredible people, and grown in ways I couldn’t have fully mapped out at the beginning.

I get messages pretty often from people wanting to start their own service-based business, asking how I built mine. The truth is—it wasn’t one thing. It was a lot of small, intentional choices over time:

• Research matters. You can learn almost anything, but it helps to choose something you’ll actually enjoy. Look into startup costs, realistic earnings, and how long businesses in that field typically last. Learn from people already doing it.

• Be willing to start as a beginner—and be honest about it. My first clients knew my experience level. I priced accordingly, stayed open to feedback, and focused on getting better.

• Evaluate as you go. Not every path within your field will fit you. I tried different types of cleaning before realizing residential maintenance was what I loved most—for the consistency and the relationships.

• Stay flexible. Keep learning. I’m confident in my work now, but I’m still learning new techniques and products all the time. Growth doesn’t stop once you’re “established.”

• Not every client is your client—and that’s okay. Fit matters. It’s better to recognize that early than force something that doesn’t work.

• Believe in yourself. Truly. Build the skills, do the work, and trust that you can figure things out as you go.
“Whether you believe you can or believe you can’t—you’re right.”

I’ve seen more and more people choosing to work for themselves lately, and I love that. It’s not always easy, but it is possible.

And I’m deeply thankful—for the clients who trust me in their homes, for the people who support this business, and for the version of me who decided to start, even without having it all figured out.

If you’re at the beginning of something—keep going. 🤍
