Garages have a way of becoming the place where everything goes when we don’t know where else to put it 😂

Holiday decor, sports equipment, tools, things you might need someday, things you forgot you owned… and suddenly you can’t get to half the garage without moving something first.

When we organize a garage, I’m not just thinking about how we can fit more things onto shelves.

I’m thinking about what your family actually uses, how often you use it, who needs to access it, and what will make putting things away easier.

Because a garage can be organized and still be completely frustrating to live with! And sometimes that means letting go of the things that have been sitting in the garage for three years “just in case” 😉

My team and I were in the middle of organizing this client’s kitchen one day — installing products, labeling, getting everything into place, when I got the call that we were going to adopt our son! 💕

And somehow, in the middle of this very ordinary workday, everything suddenly felt very different.

Holly has trusted us with so many spaces in her home over the years: her garage, laundry room, four bedroom closets, coat closet, office, kitchen, and three bathrooms. We’ve worked together through different seasons, projects, and all the little details that make a home function better!

So getting that call while we were working in her home is one of those memories I know I’ll always carry with me and her review meant so much to us!

“Grace = Melinda in a nutshell”

That might be my favorite thing anyone has ever said about working with me 🥹

She talked about how I manage projects, communicate, work efficiently, and come prepared with ideas and I think all of those things come back to the same goal: making the process feel easier for my clients!

You shouldn’t have to manage the organizer, figure out what products you need, or keep track of all the little details. That’s our job. Our job is to come in, take the mental load off your plate, create systems that make sense for your home, and help you maintain them long after we leave.

And apparently, sometimes I’ll be labeling your kitchen while life-changing things are happening in my own 😂 💖

I’m so grateful for clients who let us be part of their homes and who have allowed them to be part of some of the most meaningful moments of mine, too!

I think most moms would happily take a little more help around the house 😂 But getting everyone to participate can be a whole different story!

Kids have their own ideas about what “clean” means. Spouses have their own habits. And somehow, Mom can still end up being the person who notices, remembers, reminds, and resets everything.

Getting your family involved doesn’t have to mean turning your home into a chore chart boot camp.

It’s about creating simple expectations, giving everyone a way to contribute, and setting up your home so it’s easier for the whole family to take ownership of it.

And if this is something you’re working on right now, I’d love for you to join us inside my private Facebook group!

It’s a space for women talking about real homes, real family life, organizing, routines, and finding more peace in the middle of all of it.

Because sometimes you don’t need another person telling you how to run your home. You just need a room full of women who are figuring it out, too. 😉

Come join us! The link to the private Facebook group is in my bio.

Kids can absolutely learn to keep their spaces organized… but we have to remember they’re still learning! 😅 The systems we create for our kids need to grow with them, too.

✨ For little ones: Keep things simple and accessible. A few easy categories, low hanging space, open bins, and places they can actually reach make it much easier for them to participate.

✨ For elementary-aged kids: This is a great time to start teaching more specific systems. Show them where things go, practice putting clothes away together, and give them ownership of small parts of their closet.

✨ For tweens and teens: Give them more responsibility and more say in how their space works. They’re much more likely to maintain a system they helped create and that makes sense to them.

And busy mom, this is the part I really want you to remember:

They are going to mess it up.

They’re going to throw clothes on the floor. They’re going to shove things in the wrong place. They’re going to forget the system you JUST showed them. And yes, sometimes you’re going to want to lose your s**t. 😂

Consistency matters more than perfection.

Our kids aren’t born knowing how to maintain an organized space. We’re teaching them a skill they’ll use for the rest of their lives, and learning takes repetition, reminders, patience, and a whole lot of grace.

So keep guiding them. Keep showing them. Keep adjusting the systems as they grow. And give those little people (and yourself!) some grace along the way. Because, you know what? It works!

After I finished organizing this little girl’s room, she came home from school, saw the organization and said “mom, can we organize my toys together next?”

Job. Complete. 💖

Apparently, being a chill professional organizer is a selling point 😂

We’re not Type A in the “everything must be done exactly this way” kind of way. We’re organized, detail-oriented, and we know how to create systems that work but we’re also flexible, easygoing, and very aware that this is your home and your life!

We’re not going to walk into your house and stress you out about the way you do things.

We’re not going to make you feel like you’re failing because you don’t want the perfectly labeled containers or because your family doesn’t naturally put everything back exactly where it belongs.

And we’re definitely not going to turn organizing your home into another source of pressure!

There are people who want a professional organizer who is kind, warm, flexible, and genuinely pleasant to have in their home.

Hi. That’s us! 💖

Organized doesn’t have to mean rigid and professional doesn’t have to mean intense!

Some clients make you wish you could just show up at their house every week and Grace Blanchard was absolutely one of those clients!

From the very beginning, I loved working with Gracie! She was so kind, generous, and genuinely fun to be around. She knew what she wanted for her own closet, her two little girls’ closets, and eventually her guys’ closets, and she communicated those goals so clearly. She was also incredibly honest and upfront about where things stood with the renovations and scheduling, which made coordinating everything so much easier.

And did I mention she brought us coffee one day? 🥹 The little things!

She has such a funny, welcoming personality that made all of us feel comfortable from the moment we walked in 💖 We were working alongside her contractor and other tradespeople while the home was still coming together, and even though we were all trying not to get in each other’s way (with varying levels of success 😂), everyone was so kind and we figured it out together.

And the house itself! The design was beautiful, and you could tell how much thought had gone into every detail between her vision, her interior designer, and the contractor bringing it all to life. It was such a fun home to work in.

But honestly, what I’ll remember most is the family. They’re the sweetest, funniest, most genuine people, and I’m so happy they’re here in LA. If I could organize for them every week, I absolutely would! 💕

My only complaint is I wish we lived a little closer so my son and her daughter could have a playdate. But, as anyone who lives in Los Angeles knows, “a little closer” can mean a whole different zip code and 45 minutes of traffic! 😅

I’m so grateful we got to work together, and I welcome this family to LA with open arms. Thank you for making us feel so at home while we were helping make yours feel even more like home! 🥰

Woo! Episode 07 is live. 🎙️

I sat down with Melinda Grace, professional organizer, author, and founder of Melinda Grace Organizing, and I cannot wait for you to meet her! She is pure joy and she knows a thing or two about organizing your space.

Melinda walked me through her G.R.A.C.E. method — Gather, Release, Acquire, Cultivate, Enjoy — and we talked about the ways our physical space affects what’s happening in us spiritually and emotionally. We talked about cortisol, about grief, about what it means to invite God into the process of letting go.

If you've ever gotten the sense that life might be a simpler with a little less stuff or, you've got a closet, a drawer, or a room in your home where clutter tends to pile up, this one’s for you. Because, here's the thing: it's rarely just about the stuff. Sometimes, it's deeper.

🎧 Link to listen is in the comments! And hey, I'm glad you're here.

Yesterday was National Sister’s Day! 💕 I don’t think I’ve ever posted about my sister here on Instagram. But I have one!

She’s about 4 years older than me, and I’ve always looked up to her for her cool big-sister vibes, grounded sense of purpose, easygoing nature, and quiet, steadfast faith. She’s an incredible mom who works hard and somehow still manages to show up for all of my niece and nephew’s sports and activities. Amidst their busy schedules, she was able to sneak away with my niece last year to meet baby Dylan, love on him, and give him all the squeezes. Lol. 🥰

Last year, we started tackling her pantry. We began by decluttering, then creating zones for each section, and finally mapping out the right organizing products that fit both her vision and her budget 🙌 Because she’s my sister, I took her shopping and shared all my favorite tricks for getting the look you want while staying on budget. She wasn’t able to purchase everything at once, but we got started. And getting started is often the hardest part. So, just start 😌

Since then, she’s slowly added the clear bins she wanted, more OXO containers, and beautiful minimalist white labels. Her husband and kiddos are fully on board with the systems, and the pantry has continued to evolve over time!

Sometimes organizing takes time... and that’s okay. So does cultivating a beautiful, meaningful relationship with a sister. And you know what? They’re both worth it. 100%! 💝

You’re not the problem and your home isn’t either! 🫢

Most recurring clutter usually isn’t a willpower issue… it tends to happen when the systems in your home don’t actually match the way you live day to day 🙌

When everything doesn’t have a clear home, piles naturally start to form again because your space isn’t set up to stay maintained.

A few simple shifts can change everything: creating landing zones, grouping similar items, and making “putting things away” feel obvious, not overwhelming 😌

If you want a gentle place to start, I’ve created a free decluttering checklist to walk you through it step by step! Comment “DECLUTTER” and I’ll send it your way! ✨

This client originally brought me into their home office to help with paper filing…

They had worked with a previous organizer before, but the system just didn’t stick. It looked organized, but it didn’t actually make sense for the way they think or work, so the papers slowly piled back up.

When I came in, I didn’t try to force a “perfect” system or rebuild it my way. I just asked, “How do you actually want this to feel and function?”

And then I built the folders exactly how they had in mind. Not how I would naturally set it up, not how a textbook says to do it, but how it made sense to them 👏 That’s really the difference!

Now they’re joining my RESTORE maintenance membership so we can stay on top of it together, especially with paper filing and keeping their systems maintained.

Listen first. Implement second. That’s my mission. And I aim to tailor everything to the person actually living there. Because organization only works if it works for you 💕
