There are many types of cisterns. As most are not self-cleaning, it is a good idea to clean your cistern:
• at least once a year sludge and sediment build-up needs to be cleaned out, more if water looks, smells or tastes different.
• if any contaminants are detected inside the system (e.g., surface water from overland flooding, rodents).
• after installation and sediment needs to be removed from the bottom of the tank.

Moisture mapping gives us the ability to to detect moisture invisible to the naked eye. SERVPRO of Arleta / Hansen Hills uses a variety of equipment to perform this work. Some moisture readers have prongs at the end to physically pe*****te the material and take the reading, while others send a deep signal into the material and can detect moisture through paint, drywall, and other coverings.
