Let's talk temporomandibular joint disorders!! A.K.A. -TMJ.

TMJ affects so many people- without discrimination- and can be debilitating for some. Simply put... TMJ compromises the jaw joint (the largest joint in the body) and the muscles surrounding it. Some people experience jaw pain, clicking or locking of the jaw, difficulty chewing and other symptoms not limited to ear and throat pain, neck discomfort, and eye swelling. Depression and insomnia, in various degrees, often present with TMJ as well.

I am one who deals with TMJ. My experience with TMJ has been from one extreme to another (landing me with a specialist who wants to do physical therapy or surgery). Sometimes the pain was unbearable and I am not one for taking medication-but I could not handle the increased pressure in my eyes- so I started to take Ibuprofen. At one point, I was taking nearly double the recommended dosage because my vision was blurry from the pain.
.. Then I started using my oils!!

To the rescue-

**Lavender- the sleep support offered by lavender has enabled me to sleep again- Finally!!

**Peppermint- soothes aches and relieves pain AND gives the uplifting feeling I need when the insomnia or depression tries to flair up

***Frankincense- the number one oil for my pain relief and has replaced the anti-inflammatory medication that I was taking OTC

I apply these 3 oils nightly to my jaw line, behind my ears, and my neck and even throughout the day when I need them. I'm so grateful for their effective support and I love that they have made OTC medicine unnecessary for me.

Some oils to experiment with:

Eucalyptus and Wintergreen- natural pain relief and smells GREAT

Helichrysum and Grapefruit- emotional stability

Clean, invigorating, and essential-- 3 words I use to describe how I feel about oils!! Being a part of sharing Young Living with others only makes them more special to me. Friends, I encourage you to find something you are passionate about this year and introduce it to the world from your unique perspective. I chose YL oils for so many reasons and it is important to me to bless others with my knowledge and opportunities as often as possible!
