UNPOPULAR OPINION 👀

I don’t think a monthly clean automatically needs to be DOUBLE the price of a biweekly clean.

Yes, I understand there’s an extra two weeks of the home being lived in… but in my experience, it’s not taking me twice as long to clean.

Most of the time, a monthly clean might add an extra 30 minutes or so unless the home has multiple super furry animals, isn’t maintained at all between cleans, or there’s just a lot more buildup.

I do charge a little more for monthly clients than biweekly clients because there is usually more work…but nowhere near double.

For me, I’d rather price based on the actual time and work the house requires instead of automatically doubling it just because it’s once a month.

Tips from the Pros: Sal Suds

Sal Suds is one of our favorite all-purpose cleaners. It’s highly concentrated, so a little goes a long way, and it works beautifully on grease, dirt and everyday buildup.

We dilute it with water and use it on many washable surfaces throughout the home. The biggest mistake people make is using too much—more soap doesn’t mean more clean. It usually just leaves behind residue.

As with any product, always follow the dilution instructions and test a small area first, especially on natural stone, unfinished wood or delicate surfaces.

Simple, effective and one of the reasons we can clean homes well without relying on harsh-smelling products.

Tips From the Pros: Your Vacuum Matters More Than You Think

One thing I’ve learned after 30 years in this industry: a good vacuum can make a huge difference in how clean your home actually feels.

And it’s not always about buying the most expensive one.

Keep your filters clean, check the brush roll regularly for hair and string, and don’t wait until the canister is packed full before emptying it. A vacuum that can’t breathe isn’t picking up nearly as much as you think it is.

Also, slow down. Flying across the carpet once isn’t giving your vacuum enough time to pull up the dirt, pet hair and debris that’s worked its way down into the fibers. A couple of slower passes will do a much better job.

It’s one of those little things we’ve learned over the years that makes a bigger difference than you’d expect.
